A life with meaning
Here at West View Care Home, everyday jobs are tasks for everyone
Residents and carers enjoy eating, working and partaking in activities together as a family. Whether it’s preparing vegetables for dinner, laying the table or cleaning up the dishes; our residents make a valued contribution to the day to day running of our household as respected members of our family.

As well as everyday tasks, recreational activities are varied and often resident-led. Homemakers will go with the mood in the room or consider a resident’s life history to help decide the activities of the day. As well as reminding residents of hobbies from their past, we will also introduce them to new activities that will both stimulate the mind and body. Our intention is to replicate an environment where residents feel completely at home; this is why you won’t find our staff in uniform, but in their everyday clothes.
Choosing to live at West View is about living life to the fullest potential and for some, it’s a chance to make a new life with meaning, friendship and purpose.
West View Care Home:
a home for life.
West View Care Home consists of two households: Wren House and Robin House. Both houses are home to residents with their own staff team. These smaller groups allow for well-established friendships and harmonious living.
Wren House has been purpose designed for those who have early stages dementia. Linked to Wren House by double doors is Robin House, which has been designed for those whose dementia has further progressed. Residents are carefully assessed to see which household would suit them best with movement between houses when necessary. This ensures that West View Care Home is their home for life.
Making a house a home.
Together, Wren House and Robin House form a wider community where residents and staff can socialise with one another and engage in activities when and where they please. Each house has its own unique atmosphere. Residents often gravitate to one setting or the other based on their own personality traits and personal relationships.
Each household has a house leader, a deputy and a team of ‘homemakers’ to create an engaging environment for its residents. Our homemakers specialise in dementia care and were chosen for their high level, emotional intelligence, ensuring warm interaction with all.
